The word purity comes up a lot around here. Our Malted Rye is made from a single grain, rye, and every kernel of it is malted. Nothing else goes into the mash.
Malting means letting the grain begin to sprout, then drying it. That small step changes rye a great deal: it softens the grain's edges and brings out a natural sweetness, chocolate and honeyed notes that sit alongside the pepper rye is known for.
We believe a superior spirit doesn't hide behind big words. Malted Rye is soft and peppery at once, with chocolate, honeysuckle, clove, leather and vanilla, and a firm character that carries through to the finish. At 92 proof it is as at home neat as it is in a stirred drink.
